A jubilant Edin Terzic talked about Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 win in the Revierderby against Schalke 04.
“We came here to win the derby,” the 38-year-old told Sky after the game, adding: “We are very happy with the result as well as the performance. The way we created the goals was very satisfying. The 90 minutes were awesome, it was fun.”
Haaland scores wonder goal
The Black and Yellows opened the scoring late in the first half. Jadon Sancho punished a give-away by Schalke midfielder Benjamin Stambouli in the 42. minute. Three minutes later Erling Haaland scored a world-class volley reminiscent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Terzic, however, was more awed by BVB’s combination play in the second half: “Winning at Schalke in this fashion is especially sweet for Dortmund fans. Erling [Haaland]’s goal was exceptional. But I’m prouder of our third goal. Those are the combinations that I want to see. The creation of that goal was a great effort by the entire team.”
Raphael Guerreiro scored after a one-two combination with team captain Marco Reus around the hour mark to put the game out of Schalke’s reach. Though things went from bad to worse for the Royal Blues, who conceded a fourth in the 79. minute.
Jude Bellingham’s pass across the goalmouth found Haaland, whose tap-in was his 43. goal in 43 games for Borussia Dortmund.
