According to German tabloid Bild, Reinier Jesus from Real Madrid will join Borussia Dortmund on a two-year loan. The deal could be made official as soon as Wednesday.
The 18-year-old Brazilian, who joined Madrid from Brazilian side Flamengo in January for €30m, is set to move to the Westfalenstadion, like former Real right-back (now Inter Milan) Achraf Hakimi did before him.
Reinier, who plays centrally behind the strikers, was also pursued by Dortmund last winter. However, the Bundesliga outfit opted to sign centre-forward Erling Haaland instead.
The Black and Yellows plan with the young Brazilian to replace the injured Macro Reus. The Dortmund captain has been sidelined for six months but is expected to return to team training this week.
Real Madrid hope that Reinier, who is yet to make an appearance for Los Blanco’s first team, will gain meaningful experience with the German Vice champions, who are have gained a reputation for moulding teenagers into stars.
