Borussia Dortmund raised Jadon Sancho’s annual salary from €3m to €6m according to Bild – an amount he couldn’t possibly spend anyway.
Sancho did not have to extend his contract to double his salary. How nice! However, after leading the Bundesliga in assists (14) last season it is more than justified that one of BVB’s absolute difference-makers gets his salary adjusted accordingly. It’s not risky to predict another absolute blinder this season.
Since an additional €3m is an amount of money the humble 19-year-old won’t possibly be able to spend — he’s already in possession of Airpods — we at The Yellow Wall suggest that he should start a charity fund that reimburses BVB fans for all the pain that the unabating onslaught of transfer rumours coming from his home country will cause them over the period of the next 12 to 24 months.
It has already started and it could not be more annoying. So please Jadon, we beg you, invest into transfer rumour noise-cancelling headphones, AI-based anti-transfer rumour browser extensions or just pay the Daily Mail, Mirror, Sun, etc. to take a collective year off.
Just anything to alleviate the constant barrage of updates on Manchester United’s thoughts or how Chelsea are planning to spend their ill-gotten Rubles next. Nor don’t we want to know about Sheikh Mansour’s oily pursestrings or Fenway Group’s Moneyball ideas. We anticipate a move to one of Spain’s top two clubs anyway.
