Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus may return to the training pitch sooner than expected after he had been ruled out indefinitely from an injury he sustained in February.
The 31-year-old was scheduled to return at the start of the pre-season after suffering an abductor injury during Dortmund’s 3-2 DFB Pokal loss against Werder Bremen in February.
However, the midfielder still complained about pain while taking shots and has been ruled out “indefinitely” by the club in order to lift the pressure of his eventual return amid speculation about potential surgery.
On Tuesday, Sport Bild report that Reus is expected to join parts of team training on Thursday. It would be a surprise return although more patience will be required for the German international after being sidelined for over six months.
