Borussia Dortmund are preparing for Saturday’s away match against sixth-place VfL Wolfsburg.
Giovanni Reyna, who was denied his first Bundesliga start against Schalke 04 last Saturday due to an injury he picked up during the warm-up, returned to team training on Tuesday. However, on Wednesday the 17-year-old had to skip the training session once again due to muscular problems according to Ruhr Nachrichten. Whether he will be ready for the next Bundesliga game might be answered by BVB coach Lucien Favre at the news conference on Friday.
Axel Witsel hopeful to return
Next to Reyna and centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is out for the season with a ligament injury, Dortmund also trained without left-back Nico Schulz (muscular problems) and midfielder Emre Can (muscular problems) on Wednesday. Axel Witsel seems to be the only player who is about to re-enter team training shortly according to the local newspaper.
Meanwhile, team captain Marco Reus is still training individually. He has been ruled out for the games against Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich (Tuesday) and there is a question mark behind his return this season, considering that he has been sidelined by an adductor injury since early February.
